AFRICA’S FINEST
Matomani
Founder Wendy Vesela-Ntimbani started [Matomani because Meat and dairy production accounts for around 14.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions, according to the UN’s Food and Agricultural Organization. If the world is to meet its target of limiting global warming to “well below” 2C, some degree of diet shift will be necessary. Climate conscious people are moving away from red meat looking for alternative sources of protein edible insects.
That’s why Insects farming and consumptions is the future. Sustainable Insects farming produces nutritious food without harming the planet. It creates jobs, improves nutrition and empowers local community people.
Along the way, we have established and launched Matomani brand, which sells insects based products that are highly nutritious.
We want to be to spearhead a protein diet revolution from Southern Africa to the world that empowers local communities and does well for our planet.
